President – Elected Position – Two Year Term
- Provides and maintains a clear direction and focus for TEAMS.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
- Coordinates and supervises the actions and duties of the TEAMS officers and board members.
- Plans, organizes and presides over two board meetings each year.
- Prepares an annual report for membership.
- Assists the President-Elect and Program Director, as needed, in the development and operation of the annual conference.
- Submits an article for the ‘President’s Column’ in the Pearl Button newsletter four times per year.
- Assumes the duties of NMEA Chapter Representative in the event the current NMEA Chapter Representative is unable to finish his/her term.
President-Elect – Elected Position - Two Year Term
- Assumes the duties of the President in his/her absence, or in case of the President’s inability to serve. The latter condition will be determined by a two-thirds vote of the officers.
- Assists the Program Director with the development and operation of the annual conference.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
NMEA Chapter Representative – Elected Position – Two Year Term
- Attends the mid-year and annual NMEA Board meetings.
- Prepares and submits quarterly chapter updates for NMEA News.
- Participates in Chapter Representative and NMEA Board conference calls, a total of eight per year.
- Represents TEAMS at the NSTA Conference by preparing and distributing activities at the NMEA Share-a-thon.
- Encourages members of TEAMS to join and become active members of the NMEA.
- Keeps TEAMS Board members aware of important issues and decisions made by the NMEA.
- Submits an article for the Pearl Button newsletter four times per year to keep membership aware of NMEA news and updates.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
Secretary – Elected Position – Two Year Term
- Takes minutes at all TEAMS meetings.
- Makes corrections to the minutes as directed by the TEAMS board.
- Distributes a copy of the minutes to all officers and board members in a timely fashion.
- Writes an article for the Pearl Button newsletter following each TEAMS meeting, including a copy of the minutes.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
Treasurer – Elected Position – Two Year Term
- Collects dues and other income for the association, and dispenses payments for the association’s expenses.
- Prepares a financial report to be presented to the President at each TEAMS meeting, and at any other time deemed necessary by the President. The report should include: current TEAMS membership, current bank account balances, and income/expenses since the last report.
- Prepares an annual budget for the association to be presented at the TEAMS mid-year board meeting.
- Maintains an accurate record of the annual conference’s income and expenses.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
Region Representatives – Appointed Position – Unlimited Term Length
- Acts as a liaison between regional membership and the TEAMS Board.

- Designs and implements an annual regional workshop.
- Recruits new TEAMS membership.
- Mails a notice to delinquent TEAMS members in his/her region.
- Assists the President-Elect and Program Director, as needed, in the development and operation of the annual conference when it falls in the local region.
- Submits an article to the Pearl Button newsletter four times a year to make membership aware of region’s happenings.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
Program Director – Appointed Position – Unlimited Term Length
- Develops and operates the annual conference.
- Organizes TEAMS strand of sessions at TSTA.
- Makes membership aware of travel and professional development opportunities.
- Assists Regional Representatives in the design and implementation of an annual regional workshop.
- Submits an article for the Pearl Button newsletter four times per year to inform the membership of upcoming events.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
Membership Secretary – Appointed Position – Unlimited Term Length
- Maintains an active membership list.
- Maintains a database of past members and other people who have an interest in the association, but are not members.
- Accepts applications and renewals of membership.
- Accepts registrations for the annual conference and maintains an accurate list of registrants.
- Prepares and distributes membership cards and welcome letters to new members.
- Notifies Region Representatives of delinquent members in their region.
- Provides the Newsletter Editor with an updated membership list prior to distributing the quarterly newsletter.
Newsletter Editor – Appointed Position – Unlimited Term Length
- Solicits and compiles articles from TEAMS members for the Pearl Button newsletter.
- Designs lay out of newsletter.
- Distributes newsletter to membership four times a year.
- Maintains a general membership application/brochure for new/prospective members.
- Prepares and distributes a brochure to promote the annual conference.
- Implements election procedures by serving as the Nominations/Elections chairperson.
- Promotes TEAMS, and its goals, on a local, state and national level.
